New Moon Musings ☾
Cycles have a funny way of coming back around. Cycles are nature. Cycles are the essence of the divine flow of all things. Cycles are powerful teachers.
On my spiritual journey, working with the moon was one of the first and most potent practices for both manifestation and holding myself accountable through self-reflection.
It’s been something that I’ve disconnected from over the past few years for several different reasons: a shattering and many deaths of everything I’ve learned thus far on my life journey, a disconnection from the false astrology system, and honestly, just putting more of my focus into my business over anything else which has meant that some of my own rituals and practices have taken a back seat.
However, the subtle whisperings of Mother Moon have been growing loud enough for me to stop and pay attention over the past few months. Last month, she spoke to me the day before the Summer Solstice, pulling up internal feelings of anxiety and sadness to the surface of my consciousness and firmly guiding me to sit with these feelings fully in stillness. Making space for me to honestly check in with myself and then to express these emotions into poetry. I am so grateful for this emotional guidance from Luna.
Today, as I write this entry, it falls on the day of a new moon. Also aligning with my cycle around 5 days before my bleed begins, which is the time when I am the most sensitive, and more susceptible to feeling overwhelmed, but equally it is the time when I am my most magickal, raw, and expansive self.
This morning, that creeping dark cloud of anxiety started to sneak in, and I began questioning myself, everything I am, everything I am doing, and generally feeling bogged down with the ‘not enough’ inner goblin. Aware of the lunar cycle, and my own cycle, I asked my spirit team to help show me the medicine of this: why is this cycle of anxiety repeating? How can I evolve, grow, and transform to shift this energy?
I received the divine guidance that I am feeling anxious because there are elements of me that are ready to be expressed, and I am ready to embody a new version of me who is ready to be seen and heard. And that anxiety is a buildup of energy that is being repressed and wants to be set free.
Often when we are faced with feelings of stuckness, it’s because somewhere along the way we have diverted our focus and lost touch with our true, authentic expression, which in turn means we have veered away from our Sole/Soul Purpose: to unapologetically shine our truth.
By allowing myself to dissolve into the energy of the Moon and tune into my internal wisdom, I was shown that I have been shying away from my cosmic expression and that it is an important part of me to start fearlessly exploring and expressing.
So, like a good little student of the mystical Universe, I went into the woods with my Tibetan bowl and allowed myself to open up to recieve divine frequencies of healing and love to be channelled through me and expressed in words, sounds, and frequencies. It felt uncomfortable at first but quickly alchemised into a liberating experience. I immediately feel a shift in my vibration. I feel lighter, brighter, clearer, and full of joy.
I am forever grateful for this path, and I bow down in awe and wonder to the great mysteries of the cosmic multiverse.
Message from the Moon: Why are you playing it small babe? Time to turn that whimsy up to full volume!
Love & blessings,
