DEATH

An original poem by Chloe Rose

Death. The only experience to be guaranteed, yet it seems to be what we fear the most.

Death, destruction, decay. Words that carry so much weight and sway…

And yet… They merely put a name to the forces and cycles of nature around us.

Death. Why does the ending of life bring with it so much terror when it is the only promise given to us at birth?

Death. Darkness. Mystery. The life we choose to live re-writes our history.

And yet… To remain cloaked in fear and regret gives us a false sense of comfortable ignorance.

Death. What if.. Instead of dreading our inevitable ending, we chose to truly live instead?

Death, life, strife, aren’t we all the same inside? Just look into each others’ eyes…

And you will find… Infinite pools of sorrow and pain reflecting back a kaleidoscope of beauty, searching for love.

Death. Is it really the end? Or merely the last page of the prologue closing, before the first chapter of the epic adventure begins?

Death, so long, goodbye. If we are awaiting our demise, why do we not devote each day to celebrating life?

And you will find… The more we choose to honour ourselves…

Embrace each day with curiosity.

Feel grateful and content with what we have.

Make time for those we love.

Stop to smell the flowers.

Dance in the rain.

Laugh uncontrollably.

Do that one thing that scares us the most, but we know that our hearts’ yearn to experience.

Choosing to live life is the bravest act of defiance.

Death. No longer the bitter end, a dark cloud hanging over us, or a hooded skeletal figure.

But a warm and welcoming closing chapter to the greatest story ever written.

Love & blessings,

Chloe xo
